ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has pledged to restore the 1973 Constitution to its original form and said his government would complete its constitutional term before returning to the masses for accountability.
While addressing the nation for the first time on the state radio, Gilani said the nation will hear good news in regards to the restoration of the 1973 constitution.
The PM said that the government is trying to revive the 1973 Constitution to its original form which was distorted in the past.
Mr Gilani added that it was his endeavour to apprise the people of the progress and the measures being taken by the government in resolving their problems.
He said that the government replaced the concept of political confrontation with the notion of reconciliation and harmony and mentioned that all state institutions were working within the ambit of Constitution.
According to the prime minister terrorism, inflation & unemployment are the big problems plaguing the country at the moment.
PM’s address to the nation is a new initiative that will be aired on first Friday of every month to keep the nation abreast with government’s progress.
