Senator Dr Abdul Malik said that they (Balochis) believe in living within the federation, but with full control over their resources and complete exercise of their legitimate rights.

QUETTA: National Party (NP) president Senator Dr Abdul Malik Baloch claimed on Monday that the government is facing serious threats from the military establishment that “can overthrow it any time.”

Speaking at a news conference in Quetta, he said that the military establishment considers itself the virtual owner of the country while disdaining civilian governments.

He said that defence budget and foreign policies relating Afghanistan and India have always remained proscribed subjects to civilian governments in Pakistan.

Dr Malik said that they (Balochis) believe in living within the federation, but with full control over their resources and complete exercise of their legitimate rights.

He described the Balochistan government as a ‘black hole’, saying it has been gulping down all the packages and funds streaming into the province from the centre.
