ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said there was a clear point of difference in the views of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and mine over the appointment of judges. “Government will complete its five-year term of governance despite several challenges ahead”.

President was addressing the meeting of PPP’s parliamentarians here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

According to sources, it was decided during the meeting that President Zardari will make announcement to restore 1973 constitution during his address to joint session of parliament in March.

On the occasion, the president also directed the Constitutional Reform Committee (CRC) to prepare constitutional package by the middle of March, sources told media.

Addressing the meeting, he urged all government institutions to mind their premises in order to achieve progress.

“Our government underwent through tough period during first phase of ruling while the remaining three years of government will be spent in providing relief to common men”, the president vowed.

Illustrating the reason of Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen’s resignation, he ruled out political conflicts with him, saying Shaukat tendered his resignation owing to personal reasons.

Referring to preparations of Local Bodies Elections (LBE), he said I will activate party workers soon by making visits to every division of PPP.

Earlier before the meeting, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani held one-on-one meeting with President Zardari.

The meeting discussed the issues pertaining to current political situation, local bodies’ elections while PM Gilani also apprised President of his sitting with Sharif Brothers in Raiwind.
