SCBA President Qazi Mohammad Anwar had issued a call for a countrywide strike on January 28.

ISLAMABAD: The lawyers’ National Coordination Committee on Wednesday withdrew its call for a country-wide strike on January 28.

“The future course of action will be decided in the lawyers’ National Coordination Committee meeting scheduled to be held on February 14 in Rawalpindi,” Supreme Court Bar Association President Qazi Anwar said.

On January 24, Anwar in a lawyers’ National Coordination Committee meeting held at the Lahore High Court Bar had announced a countrywide strike on January 28.

The protest was to be held against the government’s ‘non-compliance’ with the Supreme Court’s verdict on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
