ISLAMABAD: Though it’s just a coincidence, one Malik has directed another Malik to get back the passport of a third Malik which has been in the custody of the India police for the past few days.
The Malik who issued the directive is Interior Minister Rehman and the one who is supposed to do the needful is Shahid Malik, Pakistan’s ambassador to Nrew Delhi. The third Malik whose passport is being talked about is Shoaib Malik, who will be marrying Indian tennis star Sania Mirza during the next few days.
The minister, a Sialkoti, talked to the ambassador on Sunday and then issued a statement to let the people know how much he was concerned about the passport of a star, also from Sialkot.
The cricketer’s passport has been with the police ever since Ayesha Siddiqui’s family got a case registered against him.
Both the parties have reached a settlement and Shoaib’s brother-in-law Imran Zafar said in an interview that the passport would be returned to the cricket star in a few days.
The interior minister said in a statement that he has asked Mr Shahid Malik to expedite the process with regard to Shoaib’s passport.
