KHAIRPUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said the so-called notification of the appointment of administrators is fake.
Talking to reporters at the Sukkur Airport, he said an FIR would be registered against the authorities concerned who had issued the notification.
He said officials who issued the notification had been suspended and he had ordered the registration of an FIR against them. The chief minister said that after holding talks with its coalition partners, the Sindh government would reveal the policy on local bodies elections.
The chief minister said there was 30 per cent shortage of irrigation water, which had an impact on agriculture.
He said he had made it clear on the Punjab government delegation, led by Zulfiqar Khosa, that implementation of the 1991 Water Accord be ensured.
The chief minister said the Sindh government, in the meeting with the Punjab government’s delegation, presented its viewpoint on the Chashma-Jehlum Link Canal.
He said another delegation of the Sindh government would meet the Punjab government to present the Sindh water case.
The chief minister said the Punjab government had assured them of following the 1991 Water Accord.
He said the District Government, Khairpur, provided Rs 0.1 million assistance to the heirs of deceased journalist Ashiq Mangi, while the Sindh government had also pledged to provide Rs 0.1 million and a job to his relative.
The chief minister said the Khairpur Police had arrested the main accused in the murder of the journalist. He said thousands of jobless youth of the province had been recruited in different departments.
