ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court’s Justice Javed Iqbal termed the corruption in Pakistan Steel Mills as the massive dacoity in the national history.
Also, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has been exempted from appearing before the court.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Javed Iqbal heard the case relating corruption in the PSM.
On this occasion, the federal minister was in the court for the proceedings in the court on court contempt notice.
The Attorney General told the court that the federal Interior minister cannot come to the court owing to his unavoidable busy schedule; accordingly, he should be exempted from attending the court.
Rehman Malik told the court that his decision to change the FIA investigation team regarding Pakistan Steel Mills Corruption case was not mala fide.
Talking to the media after the hearing Malik condemned the Lahore blast and said that he has sought a report from IG Punjab in this regard.
He said foreign agents want to destabilise the country but they would not be allowed to succeed.
He said that the FIA building was not targeted and it was in fact the Special Investigative Agency building.
