Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari (L) shakes hands with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon (R) May 12, 2009 at the United Nations in New York City.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muttahida Kissan Mahaz (PMKM) has demanded of the government to move a resolution in Untied Nation (UN) through its attache on the water terrorism launched by India.

Addressing a gathering at Rampura Moza Ghwind, a village situated at zero line of Pakistan-Indian border, the PMKM President Ayub Mayo and PMKM Punjab President Sardar Murad Khan Baloch said that India had made plan to kill 180 million Pakistani through drought by blocking water at Jehlum, Chenab and Sindh rivers.

The protest demonstration was also addressed by representative of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Shahid Raza and Chairman Pakistan Civil Society Forum Dr Ihshaq Khan and other social workers.

The leaders of PMKM said that Pakistani attachÈ in the resolution should mention that India has been exploiting basic human rights by making such plan to kill Pakistani people through starvation.

They said India has been working to destroy Pakistan’s agriculture and industry by blocking water of three rivers, which would covert the agriculture land into desert. This will ultimately lead to poverty and hunger and promote terrorism in Pakistan, they added.

The PMKM leaders also demanded the government to start hydle power generation projects of 41,200 megawatt in order to bring out the nation from the darkness of loadshedding. The future generation will not forgive any politician if the government will not start work on the hydle power projects which were already very much delayed, they remarked.

They were of the view that by starting hydle power generation projects, the government would save and make the future of the nation bright. They had given 15 days ultimatum to the Indian government to stop all the projects, which were launched by violating the Indus Water Treaty otherwise the Framers and Harrey organization would launch a long march from Karachi to Khyber.

It was announced on the occasion that all farmers organizations, general public, lawyers, students, traders and civil society organizations will hold protest demonstration at 1700 Km long Pakistan-India borders on September 19, 2010 against the Indus Water Treaty.
